The library program is pleased to announce the introduction of a new online library catalog called SOAR (Seeking Online Access to Resources).
  • The new catalog provides several different search environments and other features, including following:
    • The LS2 OPAC (online public access catalog), a highly interactive engine which searches the library’s print collection and three online subscription databases (Gale Cenage, Encyclopedia Britannica, and Newsbank) simultaneously, linking information searchers to both print and electronic materials.
    • The LS2 Kids OPAC (online public access catalog) - Kid’s Catalog (Graphics Based OPAC), a highly visual search engine which is particularly suited to searches by younger students.
    • The Classic Catalog (Traditional OPAC).
    • Catálogo Español, a Spanish language search engine.
    • En Français, a French language search engine.
    • Dictionary, which includes both a dictionary and a thesaurus.
    • Library Databases, a group of online subscription databases for students made available by the Department of Libraries and Information Services. Some of these require usernames and passwords. Please ask the school librarian for this information.
    • Reference, which provides links to a number of free online reference sources (usernames and passwords not required).
  • The new catalog can be accessed from any computer 24 hours per day.
